Our client operates in the automotive, acoustic, audio and construction markets. They have an established customer base, exporting goods all around the world. A business producing quality products for the UK and exporting globally. Operating as a manufacturing business that works within multiple sectors like; Architectural, Construction, Steel and Automotive.
This role is based at their manufacturing facility site in Smethwick and will also give support to a second manufacturing facility in Oldbury as and when required.
What we need from you as a Mechanical Engineer:
- 5+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer with a solid engineering background, working in a similar industry, able to hit the ground running
- Thorough understanding of mechanical fitting and mechanical maintenance practices
- Experience in the maintenance of sheet metal working machinery (Guillotines. Press-brakes, rolling mills)
- Experience in the maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with the ability to fault find, diagnose, and rectify problems
- High level of attention to detail and understanding of machine processes
- Works to a high standard of workmanship
- A strong understanding of safe systems of work
- The ability to work safely under own supervision or as part of a team
- Competent to use a CMMS on PC/Mobile
- Be dependable, trustworthy with an excellent time & attendance record
Desirable:- Experience of power press maintenance
- Machining & fabricating skills (lathe, milling, drilling, burning grinding, welding)
- Forklift / MEWP licence
- Electrical safety awareness / Basic electrical skills
This role will involve you reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Duties to include:
- Maintain all plant equipment to standards expected
- Completion of programmed preventative maintenance tasks
- Involvement in project work like the installation and relocating of new and existing equipment
- Ensure safe working practices are always adhered to
- Record and document work completed using PC/Mobile based maintenance software
- To work across multisite locations (local)
Salary/hours: £32,500 - £38,000K basic - depending on qualifications and experience, plus 20% shift allowance when working shifts, up to £46K.
Overtime paid at 1.5x base rate on weekdays & Saturday, 2x base rate Sunday & Bank Holiday.
Work schedule:- Shifts rotating every 2 weeks: Monday to Thursday 5.45am 1.45pm, finishing slightly earlier on Friday at 12.55pm. 2nd week, the shift is 2pm 10pm Monday to Thursday, finishing slightly earlier on Friday at 8.20pm
